NI myDAQ Driver Before you can start using your NI myDAQ, you need to install the required software from the NI myDAQ Software Suite DVD (included in your box). Simply insert the DVD in your computer and follow the on-screen instructions. I performed a fresh installation of LabVIEW 2018 and NI-DAQ Base 15.0 plus the NI-DAQmx Base for LabVIEW 2017 additions, using the shell script in Terminal with the script modified to replace 2017 with 2018. I also installed NI-VISA18.0.0, and for good measure NI-488.2 18.0 even though I'm not using GPIB. My hardware is a USB-6218. A second Found New Hardware Wizard will follow, step through the second wizard in the same way; 4. Connect the USB/GPIB converter to your instrument. Turn the instrument on and ensure that it is configured to use GPIB. For NI software to recognize Keysight hardware, you must enable the NI-VISA Passport for Tulip.
When using NI LabVIEW, it is not always necessary to install NI-VISA. This greatly simplifies using the 82357A in this environment. The following steps will get your system configured:
- NI VeriStand 2010 or later (Full Development for real-time deployment) LabVIEW Real-Time 2010 or later (real-time deployment) NI-VISA 5.2 or later; GE cPCI-5565PIORC Reflective Memory Module Instrument Driver (Not supported by NI) To install the driver, follow the steps below: Download the driver version compatible with your LabVIEW environment.
- Native Instruments creates professional hardware and software for music production and DJing. Discover the Future of Sound! A vast range of virtual instruments and effects: Synths, sampled instruments, studio and creative effects, samplers, and cinematic tools.

3. Connect the USB/GPIB converter to your instrument
4. Turn the instrument on and ensure that it is configured to use GPIB
You should now be able to use the 82357A connected instrument in your LabVIEW program.
If you do need NI-VISA installed (e.g. you need PXI support), there are some extra configuration steps that you need to perform:
1. Install NI-VISA (version 3.6 or later)
- If Keysight IO Libraries Suite is already installed, it will automatically go to side-by-side mode. You can skip to step 3 below.
2. Install the Keysight IO Libraries Suite
- Choose Typical installation, which will detect NI-VISA and default to side-by-side mode
